What started it for you?
I haven't seen a thread like this, so i figured why not share and see what got everyone into cars/trucks and got you to where you are today, in dept and in love with cars/trucks. Maybe this will become a sticky!
or me, it was a 1995 Thunderbird LX with the 4.6. It was my first car and Fast and Furious hit in 2001. I then started going to car shows with my uncle who had a 71' Torino GT as well as a 60's Tbird. It all snowballed and I went from having a stock Tbird to having: VidMate
ROH Rims
Xenon GFX Kit
Custom CAI
Hypertech Chip
160' Thermostat
JBA Headers
Magnaflow Cats and Mufflers H-Pipe Exhaust built by Kooks (when in Brentwood NY)
Performance Automatic Valve Body
Trans Cooler
I ended up selling her in 05', later i got an 04 Mustang GT in 2010 and did similar mods and even placed at car shows with my daily driver until I sold that car in 2015, now, I have my 97 F150!

I've been around and driven Ford since I started driving, but mostly owned Gm and a few mopars.
A few of my dads friends were die hard Ford guys as well as my brother.
Back in the day my dads friend had a 73 f250 360 4 speed highboy and a 74 mustang II 2.3 4 speed. After I got my license my dad insisted I learned to drive a stick. Since both family cars were automatic Chevies, I learned stick in both the highboy and Mustang.
His friend later gave us the Mustang for a 3rd vehicle.
The same friend then bought a 73 cougar with a 351 2V . I will never forget that car. This would have been around 1980.
Fast forward 35+ years and after the Gm and Mopars (several of which I really liked but had to go because of frame and body rust) I was ready for a change.
My brother has a 14 3.5 ecoboost f150. He always brags about that truck, so I decided to give a Ford a try.
Decided to go with a 15 or newer for the aluminum body and can't be happier.

I started out as a tuner guy. I had a 1990 Honda Civic Hatchback that was an ex show car. Absolutely beat, but it had a good engine and some neat go fast parts. I had a lot of fun with that car and learned a lot. I graduated to a 1999 Civic Si that I built a B18C5 for. Never really finished that. Moved on to a Toyota Aristo that I dailyed for a few years before getting tired of Canadian winters. Bought my first truck, a 2013 F150 King Ranch and daily'ed that for a while, while still keeping the Civic for a bit. Finally sold that and decided to take a break from the car scene for a bit. In there, I sold the 2013, and bought my 2016 Lariat. A short while after that, a Coworker sold me his 1990 Toyota MR2 which was in boxes.
Drove the MR2 for a few years and had a blast. Couple of track days and a couple of speedbumps along the way. It was supposed to be our "wedding car" but it decided to throw some more issues at me. Had enough and decided I wanted something I can cruise in, track day in, and drive around the province with my wife and dogs. Decided that the GT350 was the car for that. Biiiiig upgrade from previous. Wife also bought a 2021 Explorer ST to round off our little Ford family. We are currently 3 Fords and a Toyota.

Welcome. I started working on cars beside my oldest brother when I was 15 years old working on GTO's, Firebird's & Mustangs. I have been hooked ever since & I am closing in on 67 years old. I started with trucks 1984.
I’ve been into cars since my teens. In the late 80’’s I restored a 70 Challenger and currently own a 2010 Challenger. I’ve owned a lot of trucks over the years including Dodge, Chevy, GMC and my current Ford. Trucks for me are the way to get around in the winter with 4x4 and functionality. I may go weeks and my truck is used more like a car but it may get used like a truck 20 times in a month.
