I'm a retired Engineer (Mechanical & Software) & live in McMinnville, OR which is about 40 miles SW of Portland.

I found a Unicorn last week - a one owner 2wd 2005 F-150 Supercab with 59,035 miles on it. The gentleman passed away in March & his daughter listed it on CL but I'd looked at so many ads & spoken to so many dealers everything was sort of running together. The Nephew called me a couple of days after I left a VM but I couldn't remember the ad & asked the price. He said they were looking to get $10,000 & when I found the ad it said $12,000 firm & it had been up for nearly a month. The ad was poorly worded - "it has an extra powerful transmission" - but after a brief conversation I hauled butt to the bank, got $10k cash & after about two minutes of driving it I was sold. It came with a stack of receipts showing it'd been dealer serviced most of its life (man did they rip him off!) and for some reason the transmission was completely rebuilt last July ($3019) and he'd only driven it about 1400 miles afterwards. I looked up the part numbers on the trans rebuild invoice & they were all upgraded from OEM. It has a 3:55 limited slip rear end, a 36 gallon tank & the HD factory tow package. I put new tires on it ($1000) and will have the spark plugs changed next week. The mechanic I use worked at the Ford dealer where the truck had been purchased & is all too familiar with broken off plugs so I'm in good hands. I'll get a cap & some sort of bed slide/liner and will be able to tow my new mini-toy hauler I just had built. I drank the kool-aid that said my Flex could tow 4500 lbs & the drive home from Mesa where the trailer was built was a nightmare. I got 6.2 mpg from Vegas to Tonopah but it's 200 miles & a 4000' climb.

I have the invoice & window sticker and the original owner paid $31,500 for it in 2005. I did a "Build it yourself" on Ford's site but since there've been so many technological changes in the last 13 years it's hard to make an apples to apples comparison. The closest I got was about $41,500 today & it's a lot more truck than the 2005. The biggest difference is I own the truck - no payments & that's worth a lot.

The photo was taken at the seller's house & I have new tires on it now.

Love them & hate them at the same time. Like the product selection & shipping / customer service but won't use the potty words to express my opinion of Bezos.

Trust me, many people on my side of the fence agree with you, including myself. Fortunately, I'm not in the fulfillment side of things. I'm more into the start-up side of things and new construction. When the building is done and operating, I'm gone and onto the next project.

Welcome Vlad! Not often we get a guy from your country. And you are right, policy, [politicians],have no business in this thread. We do have a "Political" forum on here though, but I have to tell you, it can get pretty tough in there.
