Lol I've been wanting to go back there. My gf was also born on a base in Washington. Her dad was in the navy also. He was on a carrier. My dad was a SEAL and also aviation electronics.

Compared to the SEABEES. And army corps of engineers, and the marines(whatever their job is), we are **** hot. And no it's not just a vacation. Obviously I haven't been deployed yet. But our instructors tell us what we have to look forward to. We do everything it takes to keep an airfield operational. If that means pouring a couple hundreds of concrete at noon on the hottest day of the year, it's what we do. Or if we have to build a FOB. That's fun from what I hear. Worse than army then. ****tin in holes, MRE's, supplies air dropped at night.

HAHA so true man, so true. I have a bro in law who is AF and he said he has been deployed 8x. Im like, dude, I guess I owe this guy mad respect. Ive only been on 4x deployments (3x Scouts 1x Signal/EWO). Then he asks me how long ive beend deployed. Well, I tell him, 1yr, then 1yr, then 1.5yrs. then 1yr...why, what about you? He says, uh, no, we go in 3 month rotations. WTF HAHA. I bet you drive a 2WD NISSAN. How dare you marry my sister...oh wait, I have to go to AFGHAN for another year. Later. Like u said, vacation!

Done ANGER school and SERE. Ranger is difficult but its all about staying healthy. SERE, ya, dont get it wrong, you WILL get caught. You will get beat. You will be ok. Save your rice *****.

The past 5 instructors I've had were deployed 80% or more of their first enlistment. Another one has been in for like 5 years, 8 month deployment, 3 months home, 10 month deployment, 4 month home, 6 month deployment, on and on an on.

Oh I don't doubt it. I just want to. Don't think I'll ever be in **** that thick. But to me it's just another accomplishment I can chock up on the list. And the more valuable I become.
