Default Upgrade or Downgrade???

Hello all! New to the forum, but definitely NOT new to Ford trucks. I have had everything from my first truck, a 1993 Ranger XL reg. cab 4cy. 5spd with no power steering (Lime Green!), to my current truck 2019 F250 Lariat SCREW gasser.

I just ordered a 2022 F150 Lariat SCREW 157"WB, 3.5 Ecoboost all loaded up to tow my toy hauler! Cannot wait to review and compare both trucks and their hauling capabilities. Some say this is a downgrade, I think its an upgrade!

I tow within 200 miles maybe 6 times a year, so just couldn't justify the f250 any more. Plus, the MAX tow option puts my right where I need to be with all my numbers, including payload & GVWR.

I have found so much great info on this forum, figured it was time to contribute.

Oh boy- trading down as a tow vehicle. haha

A 2019 Lariat to a 2021 Lariat is nearly identical, isn't it?

They are fairly close. the 22' has upgrades like the sync screen and what not. The 250 is nice but not for me.

Just giving you a hard time.
This is a typical thread of downgrading to a truck with minimal payload hauling a toy hauler.

This is good news for the person in another thread attempting to haul his toy hauler with a potential F150 buy.

haha I get it! I have a couple things going on:

Used to tow the same trailer with a 2012 f150 scab 5.0. No issues there. I got the f250 thinking I would upgrade camper at some point, plus the birth of my daughter. Trying to get a car seat in a SCAB is not ideal! Plus, I have had this camper for 5 years now so if it’s too much for the new truck, going to downgrade there. I’ll enjoy driving an ecoboost way more all year than the 12 nights of camping 😂

upgrade for everyday use
downgrade for hauling, but not enough to disqualify 150
