Default Total Noob here!

Hey guys, total F-150 newbie here, just got my 2013 2WD Lariat SuperCrew yesterday!

Pretty excited, looking to get a tonneau cover and bedrug to kick off the major pocketbook drain now!

I have a question I'll throw out. Should I have gotten a hitch ball of any sort with my truck? All I got were keys and manuals.

Thanks! I'm looking forward to becoming an expert on all things F-150 thanks to all of you.

Curt, this is a great day in your life. I believe you bought the best riding truck on the planet. The 4x2 has a lower center of gravity and rides like a champ. My buddy has one, too. Better than any of them fancy limosines...anyday of the week. Here in NE, more than 9 out of 10 guys get the 4x4, but he just puts great tires on during the winter, and that snow, ain't thang, but a chicken wing.

Re: the trailer hitch. I infer that you didn't get the trailer/towing package package? Meaning, you have no female receiver, only a rear bumper with a hole of a ball to be bolted in?

Jack

I bought it primarily for towing a boat and/or RV (in the future). So I wasn't so concerned about having 4WD but I must admit I'm a little disappointed I don't have it in case I need it. Just a little.

No I did get the towing package with the brake controller. Not the max tow just the standard I guess.

Dealer said that a ball doesn't come with that, and I guess that makes sense since there are different sizes, but I was just wanting to make sure.

Curt, I have never bought something so new, but I have a buddy that has a brand new 2013 EB, and he had the hitch and ball. I know so, because he braged and showed me everything twice.

It just seems to me, if you spend as much as 1/2 a house, it should come with a 15 dollar towing ball of your choice!

Me neither Jack! My first "new" vehicle purchase in 23 years!!! I was looking at low mileage used trucks, and the new ones were essentially the same price or cheaper than used with all of the factory incentives Ford is throwing out right now on the 2013s.

Jeepers Curt, if there are that many incentives, may be I should take the leap into New, New, too.

Regardless, though. I am real happy for you. I can tell this vehicle is riding real fine. Nothing like going out to YOUR Own truck everyday and turning that key.

Only downside is...when you go to the super market and shopping mall parking lots. Most people are yelling out their ill mannered kids. Then, the kids kick their doors open and put all kinds scratches and dents. The moms are so belabored trying to keep the their ill mannered kids from fighting and stuff, your perfect paint job is the last thing they care about.

Have you found yourself parking a football field away from the front door.

Jack

Hahahah, yeah I already was one of those guys that parked away from others a little bit. But now it is at a whole new level!

In Atlanta, the incentives are 13,000 below MSRP for XLTs and 11,000 below MSRP for the Lariat. And was able to get them to wiggle a little lower from that.
