Tailgate Step Sqeak

I noticed a very bad sqeak from the back of my 2013. It turns out to be coming from the built in tailgate step. Is there anyway to fix that? It didn't makr any noises when I first bought it.

I think there was a thread in the " 2015 to present " section on tailgate step noise.
