Default suspension 101

proud owner of 2000 F-150 XLT Supercab; auto,2wd,5.4l V8. want to have it lifted 3.5in. frt & 1.5 rr. i'm hoping this will give it an even lift. i take it off-road on light trails in SoCal desert. will be adding 20in. A/T tires on my Chromies. i'm wondering if anyone has had this type of set-up. i'm looking at Fabtech or Procomp or any other suggestions. what is diff between these companies. i guess i'm looking for smooth operation on the highway with the ability to go off-road. i love taking my quads out to the dirt and the sand dunes. all info is greatly appreciated....

Welcome to the board!

There are some members here that have plenty of experience with lift kits. I am sure one of them will be able to give you some good suggestions.

First off, welcome to the boards!

Next, I can't really speak with too much knowledge about the older style F150's, but from what I hear you can add a set of Blistein 5100 shocks and crank your torsion bars to get the lift size you're talking about. Now if you want to go full suspension and a 6" lift I'd recommend Fabtech over Pro Comp, a little better quality.
