starting problem
I have a 1996 f150, 5.0, 2wd, auto, xlt. I have been having a intermitten starting problem that is driving me CRAZY!!!! Engine turns over strong but, no spark. When this problem started I could cycle the switch a couple times and it would start. I have tested fuel pressure - within specs. I have tried a new coil, control module, distributor pick up. Went through all ignition checks in manual and found no power on #4 pin in control module connection in start position( back probed and powered this pin and engine fired up.) Traced back to ignition switch-- replaced switch, truck ran fine for 2 weeks, then problem returned. I have wiggle tested all connections with no luck, also replaced fuel pump relay and power distribution relay. Truck will not start after sitting for a while( overnite--all day at work). Does not show any codes. Truck died at work, had it towed home. This problem started in fall and seems to be worse when cold. Put truck in my shop and when it got a little warm it started up. Left it overnite when it got cold it would not start again. Came home and tested again truck starts. I hope someone can shed some light on this problem before I lose all my hair or blow up this truck!!!! Thanks for any help.

Intermittent problems are among the toughest to nail.
Kind of a WAG, but perhaps adjust the ignition switch assembly slightly upward on the steering column. Wondering if something is right on the edge, with the ignition rod not fully engaging the assembly unless it's warm and has expanded ever so slightly? Yeah, it's a reach, but stranger things have happened.
