several questions
New guy here. Just bought a 2018 4x4 SCREW, 6.5 bed, 3.5l V-6 Ecoboost. 900 total miles since writing the check. Already a recall notice on transmission cable clip before the title arrived. The auto engine start/stop is probably designed to save fuel, but is it undue wear on the start motor? Have tried for 2 months to get Snugtop to respond to my request for info for a Hi-Liner camper shell. 3 attempts and nothing. I can't compare them to ARE and Lear if they don't respond. Anybody have any thoughts? or Suggestions

Components associated with Stop/Start had been made stronger to support the function so no worries about additional wear.
Are you contacting a Snugtop Dealer or trying to contact the manufacturer?

So I couldn't get a Snugtop camper shell east of the Mississippi River so ordered an ARE. Due in late August. Plan to do some back country camping (boondocking) and fishing, and sleep in the camper shell when weather forces me inside. Now my questions are around the charging system. I plan to run an aux battery for led lights, small fan, TV/DVR etc, and am weighing options such as battery isolator vs DC-DC charger. Just don't want to use my cranking battery for this. The 400 watt inverter will only be used when driving. Questions 1. The 240 amp alternator charges at approx 25 amps. Should the isolator be sized for 240 amps? Meaning BIG cable like "0" gauge battery or welding cable to run to the truck bed. I'm told DCDC chargers like on boats with 2 or more batteries work well and require smaller cable but are more expensive. 2. I need to get a contact closure to energize the device only when the ignition key is on. I'm told by a car stereo installer that 2018 F150 no longer has a spare fuse block that is energized by the ignition key. Is there any other fuse panel that might serve this purpose. My 2000 F150 had a fuse panel under the steering column for the cruise control and other low power stuff, but not sure about the 2018. Any thoughts are appreciated. Camper folks seem to know campers but not Ford trucks. That's why I'm asking here.
My next questions will be about adding ground clearance. Lift kit and bigger tires without screwing with the suspension. i assume there are threads already about lift kits and bigger tires
Again, Thanks,
Jack
