If anyone has had some luck/experince with replacing the heater core on a 1998 f-150 i could use all the help i could get. pictures specs or other info would be helpful. I have gotten the dash worked out and that was some trial and error. This is my first attempt at replacing a heater core.

Thanks

Give the techy guys a little bit to answer you. There are many guys on here with more knowledge than you are going to know what to do with. If there is ever an answer to be given they can.

And by the by....Greetings

Investing in a Haynes or Chilton repair manual is well worth the $20.
They are fairly descriptive about how to perform repairs on your truck.

Usually, you will go thru the glovebox to get to the heater core. You will probably have to remove the glovebox and then an access panel before you will see the core. You should drain your radiator of antifreeze before you begin the work. There will be 2 heater hoses that connect to the core from the engine compartment. They will need to be disconnected before you can remove the heater core. There will also be a vacuum line that will need to be disconnected before you remove the core. The core itself should slide out once all the connections have been removed. Be careful not to spill antifreeze from the core on your truck's carpet. Reverse the proceedure for installation and don't forget to refill your radiator and check for leaks in they new core and connected hoses.

If I missed anything, or if someone wants to provide a more detailed explanation, be my guest!
