Default Rear Diff Ratios

I'm new to this forum. I have a 06 F150 with tow package, I tow a 30' fifth wheel RV. My truck does ok in Florida on flat ground. But I've moved and it dosen't like the hills at all here in Ga. and Al. My truck came with 3:55 gears, I've got 30" tall B.F. Goodrich tires, I'd like to do a rear end housing and gear swap to 10.25" / 4:10. My question is, would a swap like that effect the computer / transmission shift points etc? I read where the 10.25" 4:10 was available as an option in 2006 on the F150.

Since you do tow I would recommend you get a custom tune to go with the gears you go with. This allows you to change shift points, firmness, and various other things that will come in handy while towing. They run roughly 400 bucks but with the added power and options to change the computer they are a great thing to have.

Why stop there, I'd almost have to go with a 4.30 gearset if it fit's the housing. I know they won't work in a 9.75. I also agree with going with a custom tuned programmer later. If I pulled a heavy trailer on a regular basis, I would definitely re-gear, especially pulling hill's and mountain's. Also make sure you have LT tires in the rear, my son-in-law tow's with P rated tires and is waiting for a tire failure to happen.
