Ford truck owner for long time-6 different ones. Latest is 09 F150 5.4 4X4 and so far, the best. great milage with over 22 towing. Comfortable. Just one problem in towing-want to lock in 4th, like new ones. Any sugestions?

Welcome. I am not sure about locking out gears on the transmission in a 2009. I don't know if that is possible or just an option on the newer select shift transmissions. There is probably some good info on here to dig up though.

 

Some info on this, but probably expensive, though it shouldn't be. Biggest item is the shift stem. I'll check with the Ford mechanic, but I'll not buy a new one, this one has too much life in it
