Oil weights and viscosity
So does anyone have an older truck with spun crankshaft bearing? '94 to be exact, I'm wondering what type of oil I should be using since it has over 180,000 Miles. The oil, I believe, doesn't reach the top of motor when it gets hot, or when the truck has been run for a period of time and then is at idle while in gear. It used to have 10w-30 throughout its younger years when it was used for towing lawn service equipment in Michigan. It also had fully-synthetic in it while it sat around 100,000 or better. Now it just barely has enough life to get around phoenix Arizona. Oh, and I almost forgot the engine type and size: in-line 6, 300cu in., 2 wheel drive regular cab. Any suggestions?
Missing the most important piece of the puzzle, whats the oil PSI cold and hot?
I would run whats always been run. Sounds like a lack of pizazz from the oil pump. Maybe a new oil pump would do you well.... Just a guess......

Welcome to F150forum.com .. Lots of good guys and info here... Be sure to post some pictures
How do you know it doesnt have oil pressure when warm... You need to get a mechical oil pressure gauge to get an accurate reading.. The oil pressure gauge in these trucks is not like an actual gauge.. They are just like an off and on switch... Is the truck knocking.. or anything.. I drove an 89 f150 that the oil pressure would drop off when it was warm and at idle.. and drove it 150k more miles like that..
