Cool 'nother Newbie

Hi all,
glad to join you.
Just retired and ordered my first-ever truck on Monday -- 2021 F-150 4x4 - rapid red, 701-a,
Now the wait begins. Dealer says 8 to 10 weeks; hope its not 18 weeks.

Am super jazzed -- can't stop reading about it on this forum, at FordAuthority, other sites on the web, magazines, etc.
Lot to learn...

Welcome to the forum, the wait begins. Time passes so slowly when you are waiting for your truck to arrive.

Which engine did you choose? What are your plans? A 4X4 in Florida so it won't be seeing snow unless you are planning some really long road trips in the winter to get away from all of the snowbirds that invade Florida each winter.

Thanks all for your encouragement.

Cihmagnum, 3.5L Powerboost hybrid. Along with the 7.2kW inverter and max tow package (to tow a camper) will be great for camping during trips to see as many National parks as we can. 4x4 will help on some of the ‘roads’ we encounter during frequent trips to Great Smokies region of North Carolina, plus here in Florida where most of south Florida is made of sand, sand sand and sandy beaches. And, to power much of my home during hurricane power outages.

Plans are to use this beauty, with all its fantastic options, for camping, biking, hiking trips; hauling my motorcycles; tailgate parties at the beach with our kids and grandkids; (and in general, just for bragging rights with my buddies on our Friday evening get togethers at our local antique motorcycle shop <grin>.

Nicely equipped!!!! Ah yes, sand. I foresee an order for floor mats from Weathertech in your near future to keep sand out of the carpeting just as we try to keep slush and road salt out up here in Wisconsin. I have been to the Smokies myself. My favorite spots are west of Estes Park Colorado in RMNP. Hoping to go there in June with the family.
