Just found this thread after buying my second F150. The first was a 1987 XLT Lariat, 300 Six (thus the nickname), manual, canyon red and chestnut. The first new vehicle I ever owned. How I loved that truck. Drove it for 13+ years, and totally rebuilt the engine along the way (at 125k miles). But, life intervened and I had to go to other vehicles as situations dictated. However, I just recently picked up (pardon the pun) a 2016 SCREW XLT 4x4. It has the 3.5 na engine, but the price was right and it only had 16k miles on it. I am not a race truck driver, nor do I haul a mobile home around the country. I will be using this truck for hunting, light hauling (6x10 flat bed trailer w/ 1 ton max payload), and generally carting the family around. Eventually, I may decide to "step it up" to a more elaborate set-up. But, for now, I am just happy to be back in the community of proud F150 owners! It's been almost 17 years, but I'm baaaaaack!
Thanks for the welcome, y'all! Here's one of the only current pics of the truck I have. This pic was taken by the dealer on the day I purchased the truck. I have since added stainless nerf bars (so my youngest can safely get into the truck... oh, and the wife likes them, too), an AVS low-profile hood protector, and Weather Tech floor mats. I plan a few other upgrades (Line-X bed liner, narrow tool box (I already have the box, just waiting on the liner), and possibly an aftermarket remote starter. I will look into other possibilities, but, for the moment, I'm just enjoying having a truck again!
