New from Texas - and a Rollover :(
Hi all, I'm Jim. Been living in Arlington for a few years now - originally from Corpus. Have/had a 04 F150 XLT Ext cab - nothing fancy - but my daily bread and butter for sure. I suppose we all come here for different reasons, but this is my merry xmas....
I recently rolled my truck My fault - blame my inexperience in the north texas snow. I didn't have full coverage because I have high miles on my truck, but I am good about my maintenance and I know the mechanicals will hold up for a long time to go. SO now I have a HEAP - sitting in my driveway. It will startup and run fine, but the truck is all kinda jacked up. Should I try to fix it? Find another truck with a bad motor and just buy that one? I have heard quite a few stories with problems with the 5.4 engine - mine has the 4.6 - if I find a truck with a blown 5.4 can I swap mine in? Any other ideas as to what the cheapest way to go? I need a truck for work...I could just buy an older one, but it seems a waste to let a good engine, trans, computer, etc etc go to the scrapyard.
I posted this in the 04/08 section as well, before I noticed the Introductions section, sorry for that.
