What's up everyone?
New to this site and Ford forums in general, I bought a 2021 F150 Crew Lariat back in March. Love the truck, went with the 5.0, always wanted a V8 truck or car as a kid because I love sound of an NA V8. My first car was a 1991 Dodge Dakota I bought in high school. It was a heap, but it had a 5 speed and a flowmaster dual tip cat back exhaust haha so I was loving downshifting that thing all over town. Anyway, I start looking for a new truck to handle things around the house I recently bought and after a couple months settled on this spec. 2021 Lariat High in Lead Foot Grey (a color that got discontinued 2022, so you can only get the new interior in Lead Foot in 2021) so I went with the used 2021 (19k miles) rather than build a 2022. The truck is in Baton Rouge. It looks nice in photos, so I request some cold start, walk around, and driving videos. Videos of all the buttons being pressed, etc. I like how everything looks, so I buy it without actually seeing it in person which made me a little uneasy to be honest. Is that dumb? I kind of thought so but just wanted this thing bad lol. It was not a trivial amount of money, but I figure it a year old, can't be that messed up. I did purchase an extended full warranty good to 125k miles for about $3k, so that helped ease some concerns.
Anyway, I'm rambling on but I freaking love this thing and I never thought I could love another vehicle like my 2001 4runner I had for 12 years. Truck arrives on a flatbed towed by a guy named Yuri and it has a muffler delete so its so loud on cold start LOL I missed that in the video just thought it was the rumbling coyote v8. It made me think of that first truck with that flowmaster exhaust. It made me hope that kid would think this dude in his mid 30s was pretty cool. Hope to learn a lot with ya'll, I like to turn my own wrenches so I'm sure I'll be leaning on this community here and there and hope to teach some things of my own. Cheers!
Good looking truck! And welcome to the forum. I notice a lack of decals on the rear quarter panel, assuming this is a 4 X 4 truck? If the previous owner removed them I would say that indicates he was more than just a 'casual' owner and took interest in his vehicle, which generally speaking would mean it has been well-cared for.
