Hello everyone my name is Joe and I'm new to this forum. I just picked up an 1977 ford Ranger XLT F-100 last week and I'm in the process of fixing it up to its original shape.
But there's one thing that is frustrating me and that is I have no idea what size motor it has in it. I know its a Ford 1977 small block. But I don't know if it's a 302 or a 351W. The Vin# says it should have a 302 but the guy I bought it from said he thanks its a 302 that came out of a early model mustang. I can't find the casting number but there is a valve cover information sticker with a series of numbers D7TE-9C485-BC. then in big numbers it has 7-268. I decoded first 4 series of the number then I can find the rest on google. If anyone can help i would be very much appreciative.
