Default New From Ohio

First time Ford owner. Just traded in my financed 2018 Big Horn Ram in for a leased F-150 XL. If I would've done proper research back in early 2018, I would've bought an F-150 in the first place. First time leasing a vehicle too, so it might get interesting in a couple of years! So far Im really liking the Ford. There's definite things I miss in the Ram, and it sure had a lot more options than the XL. But...overall Im very happy. I have a big learning curve ahead in getting used to the F-150, but Im excited to own something other than a Chrysler product for awhile.

Welcome to the group! You'll love the F-150!

I've leased my last three F-150's and it works well for me. Send me a PM if you have any questions or concerns about it. It's also been discussed at length in many threads.

Good Luck and Enjoy!

Thank you! The biggest concern I’ve had with leasing a truck is actually using the truck. I just bought a bed mat for it, but I know I’ll still end up with scratches and nicks over the three years. Mileage isn’t a real concern though hopefully. I bought my Ram in March of 2018 and it had 9200 miles on it Thursday when she was traded in. That was with one trip to TN and two trips to the Grand Rapids MI area.

Normal wear and tear is acceptable. As far as the miles go.....they only matter if you turn the truck in. If you buy it out or trade it in they make no difference. I was 10000 over on my miles with 7 months remaining so I traded it for my 2019. As long as it's in good shape and they can sell it, they don't return it to Ford. You want to make sure if you go to a different make that they're taking it as a trade. I almost got burned on a failed deal for a Chevy (I know....don't hate me). The dealer never told me they were returning it to Ford. They gave me the impression they were taking it as a trade. I found out the day I was suppose to pick it up. Just as well....I'm much happier with another Ford.

That’s interesting about the mileage. Thanks for the info.
