Hey guys new to the forum and its been a long time since i owned a ford. LIKE OVER 50 YEARS, my last one was 1969 f100 360 automatic tuff as hell. i know at 17 i put it thru hell and it held up pretty good. Anyway just inherited my oldest sons 2009 f150 with 4.6 3valve it has had issues for a couple of years with misfires on number 5 well he was told the vvt solenoids needed replacing so i inherited 1 of those new also well got it home and hooked up to computer and it just showed misfire on 5 so changed out coil pack with number six same code misfire number 5 to make this short pulled valve cover and exhaust rocker arm laying in head put new rocker and lifter in but lobe on cam is very rough still showing misfire number 5 but running lots better but idles very rough. i am going to go ahead and pull heads and do valve job as it has 245000 miles on it. i am a okie from Oklahoma retired from railroad. Have a question about camshaft i'm going to order new cam for the left side but haven't taken it apart yet does it have bearing in the races on the head that the cam runs on or how does the cam rotate in the head .
