New mamber with 'new' 1996 F150
Hello Fellow F150 owners, I just wanted to introduce myself and, as a new F150 owner, plan to at least lurk on this Forum with some regularity. I have been a member for a while but haven't had a need to post because I did not have an F150. In late August I searched out and bought a very nice 1996 F150 at a Lincoln dealership in Chambersburg, PA. It was a one owner, regular cab, 5.8 L V8,, two wheel drive XLT with 71,000 miles. It's not a show truck but is in very nice, rust free, unmolested original condition and obviously has been well maintained over the years by the original owner. I'm a life-long loyal Ford fan and also own a 2014 Expedition, 1995 Mustang GT convertible and a 2007 Parnelli Jones Edition Saleen Mustang.
On the F150, I am having an issue with the radio which I may post about after I have a chance to investigate it some more. Seems as though it pops and crack cracks quite a bit and only has sound coming out of the right speakers. It also seems to have trouble even pulling in strong stations within about 25 miles of home. Not sure if I have the premium sound radio or not but I believe that the problem is in the main head unit itself. I don't think that this problem existed or was as pronounced until I disconnected the battery a couple weeks ago to clean up and repair the negative battery cable clamp and wire.
Thanks for allowing me to be part of your forum.
