New intake
...depends on where you live...in Cali...only legal one is Roush...arguably most engineered design..but others(AFE, for instance) which may offer twin intake filters seem to do a bit better..not that any intake CAI will do much on it's own..5hp(at best!)..with most installers reporting "love the new noise"(mostly increased turbo whine spool-up noise)..you'll need to add a more open after cat exhaust system and a "tune" to really do much...Borla, a Ford oe supplier does a good job on exhaust(using a better quality SS and very compatible install, basically stock attachment points)...and tune depends again on where you live ..No tune is legal in Cali or the several juris which follow CARB standards....BUT..suggestion..instead of all the aforementioned, try this first: Fill up with top octane gas(91-93...no av-gas!) and then drive it like you stole for a week or so..at least a tank full(that could be a bit if it's 36g!)..and then see if your results satisfy your "need" for added oomph!...You might be surprised a bit..and question?..did you try "sport mode" yet?....Spec-wise..it doesn't take much to increase the HP/lb stat to match the Raptor...5+hp to a '19 or '20 F150 4x SB...is close, just almost for XLT..weight is the factor..but rear-end ratios do come into effect..for 0-60 times..overall weight will effect 1/4 mile results..etc, etc...you could go on and on..it's an interesting subject(3.5's that is, personal bias not aside)..a stock 3.5 Sb is capable of a sub-6 second 0-60, so just what are shooting for?(sub 5?...doable with a tune+..)...I myself am approaching performance enhancements from a different perspective...aeros plus efficiency mods to increase overall performance quality..(.but i digress)..First best mod, imho: Hellwig plus rear Bilsteins...Front suspension is actually "factory-improved", rear, notsomuch(crappy, really)...anyway, your ride, your choice..good thing is "choices abound!"..Happy Trails! ..from the "Ol' Rattler!
