Default New Guy from NC

Hello all! My name is Doug, I am originally from from WY, currently living in western NC. I have an 87 F-150 I just picked up for $950, and of course it needs work so hopefully I can find some good help here! Yes it runs, No not well! This is not my first F-Series, (Had a 91 F-150 with a 5.0 and a 94 F-250 with a 7.3 over the years) but this is my first truck with a 300-6. So far I like it, even running like poo it still pulls like a mule! With a little luck, this might just turn out to be a good old truck! I have worked in shops, and done a bunch of my own wrenching, so maybe I can be of some help here too. I am the first to admit that I don't know everything, but I do know a little, maybe just enough to be dangerous! I decided to join after ending up on several posts here looking up info. I think there are some very knowledgeable folks on here, and I look forward to chatting with you all!

Welcome to the forum Doug. Yes, there is a lot of good information to be found on this site. Good luck with your newest truck and share a pic when you have it.

Thanks for the welcomes everyone!

As you can see, she is in need of a little love. Years of neglect by PO's has taken its toll. This weekend the fix up begins with intake/exhaust gaskets, checking timing/diagnose an idle/drive-ability issue, a full blown tune up, and whole lot of cleaning!
