new guy here
Hi guys- New to this forum, but not new to car forums at all...
Finally I'm getting a truck, I wanted one for a long time. But in my twenties I had no real purpose for it so I opted for a sports car. Then came the kids, and we had a mini-van and boring commuter cars. Now that the kids are getting older and I want to tow a camping trailer, haul stuff for my home projects, and drive something that I actually like, I finally pulled the trigger on that F150.
I did want that extra seat in the middle. I was baffled how difficult that was to get for a nicer truck. How could you not want that?! I learned that some people have negative associations with it, but not me. See, I didn't grow up here, I came to the US about 20 years ago. Where I grew up we didn't have pickup trucks. I grew up in the 80s, so I only knew trucks from watching the "Fall Guy", with Lee Majors as Colt Seavers, his cousin, and that hot blonde girl sitting in that Chevy truck. My dream was to have a truck one day and sit with three people in the front :-)
Now I got that, now I'm an American and soon I will be driving with my two boys next to me. I couldn't be more proud.
But back to the truck: I learnt that if you want the 40/20/40 front seats with leather, you are restricted to the Lariat. No less and no more. And you can't have the 502A or sport package either. I test drove a FX4 but the road feedback was too much for me, since I'll be using it as daily driver (getting old?). So I settled for a normal 4x4, Chrome, 501A, B&O, trailer, sunroof. I wish I could have gotten the sports package I think it looks awesome. Maybe I'll switch grill and bumper later at one point. But I gotta say the Chrome grows on me as well.
I couldn't be more excited. I'll pick it up Tuesday, and I'll post a picture !
