New guy here.
Hey guys whats up. New to this site, i am an avid atv rider and have two suzuki 400s. Just bought a 2012 F150 with a 3.7 v6 in it and the 6 speed tranny with factory tow package. I am a bit disappointed in its towing capabilities. I have two trailers, a 6x12 v nose enclosed and 14ft flat bed. the truck does great with the flatbed but when i try and tow the enclosed its horrible It doesnt want to come out of fourth gear drinks a ton of gas and is almost to the point swaying so bad im afraid to tow it! haha I had a diesel before this and never had an issue but the cost of repairs and fuel were breaking my bank account and i surely thought for the trailers i had this truck would do ok. I am trying to figure out some ways to try and bump it up so it will tow a little nicer. I dont have much time now but will try and search around on here later tonight. But any advice is greatly appreciated. Beginning to think i should go back to a diesel! haha
Yeah, the problem is i drive a lot without a trailer. Its my daily driver and I run about 400 miles a week. I love the fuel economy it gives not towing a trailer. And i pulled my 14' all the way to Oklahoma from Missouri without any problems and it did a great job. It just does not tow anything with wind resistance. It acts like im killing it. and now that i have towed the enclosed a few times, the transmission sort of lunges at stop lights when i come to a stop or take of from a dead stop. I just searched around on here and everyone seems to be happy with the way it tows for them. Maybe i need to take it to the dealership and have them look at it.
