new guy on the block!
Hey all! my name is steve just currently moved to WV. I'm looking to get a new vehicle in the next few months and had a few questions about newer f150's. Ive had several Wranglers two were heavily modified so I'm not scared of a little project. i just had a few questions, first how much lift does it take on a run of the mill 4x4 to fit 35's and second what kind of gas mileage can i expect. ya i know theres more to life than MPG's but its a good question in this day and age. I want a truck i always loved driving my dads f150 and i want one for myself. Also what axles, trannys, x-cases are under these things.?
Welcome to the site for starters....and as for lift and 35's all u need is a 2"level kit. about a grand cheaper than the nearest lift kit.
MPG's with 35's will be anywhere from 11-14..all depends on driving habits, elevation, etc.
As for the axles and such...I will let the gear heads jump in on that one

Welcome to the boards!
With a 4WD you can fit 35's with just a leveling kit as already mentioned. Definitely will save you a lot of cash going that route, but doesn't get you any extra ground clearance if that is your aim. I'm driving a 2WD with a 6" lift and 35's and getting 11-12 mpg's, but that's in Hawaii where my driving is 99.5% stop-n-go. Back on the mainland I was getting about 14-15, I figured it up the other day and I am losing almost 90 miles per tank of gas since I moved to Hawaii. You're 4WD, but I think you should get in the 13-14 mpg range with 35's. One other thing to consider when upgrading to 35's is you'll want to regear. A set of 4.56's will help you regain all the power you'll lose by going to 35's.
I remember growing up and seeing all the lifted trucks with the big ole mud tires and thinking to myself one day I'm gonna have one of those. Well it took me a while to finally to do it, but now I have the truck I always wanted.
