Default New guy

Hey all! As a former F150 leasee for many years, I ponied up and purchased a used 2008, with 10k miles. So far so good, but the check engine light came on today, a week after purchase! Anyhoo I joined here to follow the list and keep my new REAL vehicle in tip top shape, with advice from the members!

Thanks in advance for help!

Well I hope it's not this, but I have heard that you can go to people that can temporarily disable the check engine light for like two weeks or so in order to sell it for more money. My friend did it to sell his Jeep Liberty. I do not agree with lying to sell a car for more, but it happens. I hope its not that for you. I would take it to a Ford dealership if there's one around you, if not, I would take it to a mechanic/service shop and have them test it to find the problem.

I doubt a truck with that few miles would throw a code already. If the exhaust is aftermarket, he probably cut the cats out and didn't throw any mil-eliminators on it to mock the cats. Dunno though, still under warranty so let Ford fix it.
