New to the Forum

I just joined the Forum yesterday. I have a 2019 XLT F150 with the 5.0 Coyote. I bought this at auction with 195k miles. I am delving into the world of newer trucks after owning multiple 7.3 power strokes for many years and was active in some past forums on those. I am highly knowledgeable about the 7.3 and hope to be that way soon with my new investment. I have always found forums very helpful in the past and always like to give back by posting my findings and how to's in the past as well. Look forward to future conversations here.
To start here, I wanted to give a story that always encourages me when I am facing a stubborn challenge.
In about 2013, I had a used 7.3 Excursion that had an electrical gremlin where the MAP sensor would read sporadically. This had been worked on by the ford dealership multiple times by the previous owner and he had about 5k of receipts to prove it with he gave me with the truck, I had spent months monitoring and troubleshooting including running wires into the cab to multiple multimeters for live data. I even sent in the ECU to get inspected and refreshed by a professional. At the time I was living in Colorado and out of despair (I never ever take cars to any mechanic) I called a local old timer out in the country there that sold power stroke parts. He patiently listened as I walked him through all the steps that I took to diagnose this problem, and I asked him if he knew of a good mechanic that could help me. After a few seconds of silence, the old timer said he knew just the guy! I was super excited to hear that; then he proceeded to say that he as talking to that mechanic right now. He proceeded to explain that there is NO mechanic that would have or will take the steps and time on this problem that exceeds what I already have done and that I just need to continue to be persistent and figure this out. Ultimately, I traced back to the ECU again and sent back to a professional and asked that he look at it again or send a new unit. This unit was certified refurbished by Ford. I received an email a few days later that the problem has been discovered. There was a micro fracture on one of the solder joints that could only be seen under magnification and this was causing the intermittent code.
Every time I get frustrated with things, I always think of those wise words of that were told to me. Sometimes we are the only ones that will care enough to take the time to solve our problems.
