Hello, I'm new here so be gentle with me. I am 77 years young so have been around the block quite a few times. I am more into Porsche cars, but have also had a few Fords, cars and trucks.

I have a question about a pickup my son-in-law inherited from an uncle. He received a 1986 F150 XLT Lariat with 114k miles, which has 10k on a new crate 302 engine and transmission. The interior and exterior are both in great shape.

It has duel fuel tanks and the forward tank fill cap area has a key lock. The key lock is not on the fuel cap. Neither he nor I have run across this setup before. Does anyone have an idea what this key setup might be for???? Any help will be much appreciated.

Cheers,
Larry
