Hello all, I am new to this forum. I have a 1998 Ford F150, standard, (stick shift), & have had my truck since 2000. Just went over 300,000 miles. Like to do as much work to my truck as possible. I do have a problem that arose this morning on my way to work. It seems that my electrical system is failing some where. My dashboard, clock, radio & headlights either went dim or completely out. My radio turned itself off. Dashboard lights, such as ABS, battery lights started coming on. These are in red. Headlights were completely out & I drive to work in the dark. I am thinking the alternator, but not 100% sure. Has anyone else had such a problem?

I had a similar problem with my 95 Dodge years ago turned out to be the alternator. I took it off and had it tested they said it was working. After i put it back on same issue. So i did more troubleshooting, battery wire harnesses etc and then came back to the alternator. I took it off to have it tested again and i found out that it was seizing up so sometimes it would work and sometimes not. changed it out and problem went away. This also happened to me while living in AK.

Welcome to F150forum. She sounds well traveled and well used. Hope you get your electricals sorted out. Let us know if we can help you out with any aftermarket LED/HID upgrades
