But an old truck guy. Just bought a 2013 Scab 3.7L 2wd a little over a week ago. XLT with the 301 mid package and XLT chrome package. I don't care for the chrome so much, but almost all the XLTs seem to come with it unless you order it from the factory. Blue flame metallic color -- which some people say is too bright and not "manly" enough -- but I don't care. It's a good looking color, in my opinion. Tan interior -- thank God the tan interior comes with dark-colored carpet. I've seen what happens to light colored carpet in a truck. It ain't pretty. Anyway this is the first truck I've ever owned with cloth and carpet, always had vinyl before (seats and floor), so it's taking some getting used to. Can't just clean it out with a blower.
I owned a 2005 F150 XL Regular cab for a long while, with the 4.2 engine. So this is a nice step up in terms of luxury bull****. I also had a Tundra for awhile, and those are better than a lot of people think. But always had a soft spot for the Fords.
I use it to haul around a great big heap of DJ gear (speakers, trusses, stage equipment etc), commute to work and occasionally tow a small boat. The 3.7L engine is great, best fuel economy I've seen in a big truck, and feels like it has the same power as the older 4.6L V8s. Sure as hell beats out the 4.2L v6 I had in my 05.
