New to this forum
Hi all.
I am new here, though I've lurked a few times.
In 2006, I purchased a new F150 standard cab, v-6, 5 speed, a/c, cruise, am/fm/cd, Linex spray in bed liner, & a class III tow hitch.
I truly enjoy this truck. I have a custom rack on the back which I use to haul my 1436 jon boat. I also pull a 2011 Jayco 1208 popup camp trailer. Loaded, with trailer & boat I get just over 19 mpg on the road. Empty, it gets right at 25 mpg.
I've been all over the Great Smoky Mountains National park & the Blue Ridge Parkway with this truck and it does a great job.
It only has 41,000 miles so far and looks and drives like new.
I wish that Ford still offered this exact truck. I'd buy another one and give my current one to my son who will soon be 16 years old.
The standard cab in this year has that space behind the seats that can be accessed by those small suicide doors like in the longer supercab. I like this cab and wonder why Ford did away with it.
I've always enjoyed a stick shift, and when I ordered this truck, I had to have another one. It's been great.
I don't like the new F150's quite as well. Who knows, maybe I will buy my son one of the new ones and simply keep my current truck for many more years.
Cheers,
Tug
