Default new to ford

hey im new to ford, i recently bought a 93 150 fro $550, the trans in my gas saver went on me so i had to get a new way to get around.
thats her when i bought her

thats her now
its got the straight 6 cyl. had 185k on her in and now has 188k, still running strong. i have to say i kinda like ford now. havent had any problems so far, and honestly i dont think i will. but i thought id stop by and say hello

nah, she will be ok (as complete drivetrain falls out onto the pavement*) lol
my only thing is a CEL that i get sometimes. i went to autozone and they said they can only get the fault code if its on 24/7, and that since its not i have to get a garage with a big scanner to find out what it is. is that true, or is there any thing i can do to get the code myself?

You can get a ford code reader and when the light is on read the code yourself. Then look it up. Prolly gonna be an O2 code or like a tps code. There weren't many things to trip a CEL on pre OBD2.

i get the CEL if im cruising on the freeway, and let off the gas and coast for a lil while, it stays on for about 1 min and then goes off, it doesnt run any different, but i know there is a problem
