Default New from Florida

Whats up everybody? My name is David, friends call me Bubba. I live in North Florida. I am a Deputy. I have a 2003 F150 King Ranch crew cab 4x4 with 175000 miles on it. I found this site cause I had some questions and it seemed helpful so I joined. It started missing the other day. I took it to a friends shop and he put it on the computer and it said it was miss firing, however it would not tell us what cylinder was miss firing so I did a complete tune up on it myself (I do know what I am doing and all the plugs and coils were oem). I changed all 8 plugs and coil packs, fuel filter, and air filter. The truck instantly had more power, I could feel it real good. I drove like normal for about 3 days and then all of a sudden sitting at a traffic light it began to shake real bad. I pushed the gas and barely got a response. Then it took of and now has started the hesitation all over again. I am lost and not sure what to do now. The computer ran a full test and said it is running fine but I still have that annoying hesitation. Anybody got any ideas? Thanks in advance for the help and welcomes.

Welcome to the forums. What brand of coils did you use? Some aftermarket coils are made in China and don't hold up well. Another thing might help is to clean the MAF with MAF cleaner. Try running it with the MAF unplugged to see if it runs better. If so, the MAF is giving poor information.

I just retired from a job where I worked on all of the Sheriff cars. I put them together when they wer new. Even the K9s with the rear door pop. You guys have a tough job. Thanks for being a sheepdog. http://www.apfn.net/messageboard/08-19-04/discussion.cgi.29.html
