Cool New from FL

Hey guys,

This is going to be a little weird considering I don't have my F150 yet, but let me explain.

I wanted to introduce myself because I am going to be getting an F150 in March and as of right now I am doing my research. Back when I owned a Mercury Mountaineer AWD (5.0) I was heavily into forums because I know how helpful they can be. So when I made the decision to get an F150 I decided to start doing my research on upgrades fairly early.

I have wanted an F150 ever since 2002 when I got to ride around with a guy I knew in his 1997 5.4 4x4 scab every weekend. I watched him haul everything from 4 horse trailers to buggy rigs in that thing. Only upgrade he had on it was a home made exhaust and some audio upgrades. The interior was some kind of awful bluey/greeny colored cloth that was hideous and he never cleaned it.

One day we were at a rodeo and it had just rained, There was a muddy slop in the middle of the roadway where the horse trailers were supposed to park. All the big diesels were getting stuck in it (2 wheel drive of course) and I watched him for an hour help pull these rigs out like it was nothing.

I at the time got to drive my dads 2002 Dodge Dually diesel around to the rodeos, but it just never seemed as "cool" to me as that 5.4 was.

Since that time I have owned an SUV and now due to economical reasons... a car (lame)

But some financial situations have made their way into my life that will allow me to finally get the truck of my dreams.

I am planning on a 98-01 5.4 - 4x4 (preferably FX4)

but I have not decided yet if I want a scab or a screw

Anyways, that is my long boring story.

I hope to sit in with you guys and learn all I can

Welcome to the site! You would have to find a late 01 and beyond to get an fx4. I believe they didn't start making them til then.
