New F150 Owner
Where do I even start. Oddly enough, this is my very first truck. For my entire adult life I drove a foreign car. From BMW to Volvo, I have had it. My last ride was a 2009 Audi TT. (yes a small 2 door coupe)
I traded that in last month for a brand new (could not beat the .9% financing!) Black 2011 F150 Fx4 Crew Cab 5.0 V8
The first week I felt like I was in a tank! After only 1 month I cannot believe I never had a truck before. Its a monster! The amount of room you get with these things is incredible and being able to throw stuff in the back of the truck is just super cool. I don't think I will ever go without a truck again and still cannot believe how much I love this thing.
The second week I had my truck my 10 yr old son was trying to throw a bag of recyclables into the dumpster at the local dump site and missed and the bag swung back and hit the bed of my truck. 1 week in and I have 3 dents above the drivers side tire on the truck bed. Had to drive an hour to the closest Dent Works place and paid 125 bucks to get those dents out. Looks brand new again!
The 3rd week I had my truck I was at the barber shop. Came back outside and on the passenger side rear door is a monster dent with a scratch that goes down to the bare metal. OMFG are you kidding me? I have not even made my first payment yet. So my baby spent the next 2 days at the local body shop getting the dent removed and repainted and glossed over again. 360 dollars later shes back to brand new again!
Today my black beauty is at the 4x4 offroad shop getting a 4" lift, RBP rims with 35" Nitto Terra Grappler tires and painted Bushwacker fender flares.
I am hoping to pick her up tonight but it will probably be tomorrow and cannot wait! I have gone from what most would call a "pretty boy" in a girlie 2 seater to full blown "redneck" in my lifted F150 SCrew.
So thats my story. For the record though, it was all of you with your lifted trucks and mud tires and aftermarket goodies that made me decide to do mine. I also appreciated all the fantastic reviews on different lifts, tires and wheels which made my choices a lot easier.
Will post some pics tomorrow.
Christmas will probably bring a lightbar and lights and a new billet grille.
