Lots of threads on this in the 2015 to present forum and you'll get all kinds of answers as Lariat owners will try to sway you that way and XLT owners will sway you that way. Just comes down to what you want and the options you want or can't live without.

One thing is if you want the large mirrors for towing I'm pretty sure the lariat will power fold and scope but xlt is manual. Nice to have IMO with the big mirror

Welcome to the site.
Hard to advise someone else on what to purchase, everyone's needs for buying a truck are different.
I have a 150 Lariat on order, 5.0.
After looking at the trim levels & options, the Lariat did it for me.......good luck !

If I were to buy another Ford to replace my current one, I would order WITHOUT a moon roof and without the rear slider glass.

I ended up with an XLT. The only things I really wanted that the Lariat had were leather seats, power folding mirrors, and home link. But that was a lot of extra to spend for those items, when I didn't care about much else. I got the XLT sport model, which has different cloth seats than the regular model, and I actually really like them. I do hate getting out in the rain to fold the mirrors so I can go in the garage, lol

Especially since the seats are only partially leather!

I went XLT. I didn't need leather and I have the package with the larger 8 inch screen Sync3 which was the only major option I wanted. They only option I would like to have that is in the Lariat is the floor console and shifter but I like what I got just fine and it is functional.

Welcome to the F-150 boards, glad to have you join.

Any fun performance or visual modifications planned for the truck?
