New from CO
Hello, all!
I've lurked here long enough, and with the purchase of my '03 thought I'd join the fray. My username is the one I've used for years on F150online.com, so I thought I'd just keep it, even though we're in Colorado now, and I no longer have a Lariat, but an XLT. (I guess we'll see who's *really* paying attention down the line!)
The '03 replaces my '99 Lariat which decided to spin a bearing, toss a rod, or throw some other such catastrophic temper tantrum back in May with 270K on the odometer. Living a number of its years in Ohio caused the undercarriage and other bits to succumb to rust such that it just wasn't economically feasible to dump $5K into a new motor, so I found a rust-free '03 with 160K and which now has a new reman'd motor thanks to a bad head gasket and a dealer who is now very underwater on the deal.
The '99 is now donating pieces and parts to the '03 (wheels/tires, shocks, trans cooler, driving lights, windows, weather-stripping... I've got a pretty good list going) and then will sadly be sold off. Hopefully someone will want to put in a used motor themselves and keep driving it, but it will probably end up being parted out.
Anyway, I look forward to being an active part of the 10th-gen section and others here! Watch for a build thread when I have time to get it started.
Andy
