Default New accessory store owner from Alberta

I just bought myself a 2012 F150 FX4. First new Ford ever and I think only the second Ford I have ever owned even though I have prabobly owned 100 vehicles. Nothing against Ford but Ive alway been a GM guy. Long story short, the GM bailout in 2008, the fact that I need to buy a 3/4 ton in a GM to get a crew cab 6.5 box, and the salesman telling me he wouldn't give me a price because he was going to be $15k higher than the F150 all convinced me it was time to try a Ford. I got it a week ago but have only drove it once, took the kids for a ride, and I plan to keep using my GM until I'm done dressing up the F150 means it will be a month before I start using it regularily.

Although I am a Ford fan, I did investigate the GMC, Chevrolet and Dodge. At the time, they all had huge rebates, but comparing the Ford to the GMC, I got a lot more bang for my buck in the Ford. The two trucks it boiled down to were within a couple hundred dollars of each other. I like the packages Ford offers with their trucks because for essentially the same MSRP, I got chrome side steps, 4.2" monitor in dash, Sync, tow package, a much heavier duty suspension, power pedals, leather wrapped steering wheel, and the list goes on. I wouldn't say there is anything wrong with the GMC, as it was a very nice truck to drive. It was just too expensive! Getting down to brass tacks, my Ford dealer gave me a huge discount and the accessories I wanted at a price no one could touch. In fact, I paid less for my 2012 F150 brand new, than 2011's are selling for used with 20,000 to 50,000kms on them. I don't know how much sweeter a deal can get than that!

I paid less for my new F150 than I paid for my similarily equipped 03 Sierra when it was new in 2002.

Hey Brent!

Tyler from Hanna, was your #1 customer there for awhile when you notched my 97 gmc on air. I recently purchased my first ford as well, but its just my beater/daily driver but I also turned to the forums to learn more. Havn't called for anything for awhile but definalty still sending people your way! Been watching the build up of the ford on facebook, looks good!
