Just got a 98 f-150 xlt 4x4 with a 5.4 with 240k KM on it for $3500cdn last week. Its a white truck with pinstriping it came with a canopy running boards and bug sheild wich ive removed.

not sure what to do with it yet id like to go with a long travel suspension just not to into the $8000 price tag of the full conversion.

Ive got a set of ford racing header and am in the process of building an exhaust system for it but still need to find a setup that makes good power and doesnt sound like an 86 camero with a glass pack.

The wife wont let me build a fast car so Ill fool her by building a truck, A prerunner is about as cool as trucks get to me.

About my exhaust, I Searched youtube and found one that I actually liked the sound of I belive it was a true dual setup. Had a nice rumble with no obnoxious growl someguys set their trucks up to have.

My biggest concerns with my project are still kepping the truck somewhat street legal and the 5.4 engine under the hood. the engine is pre PI heads so it doesnt have allot of power.

Has anyone changed cams or heads in the early 5.4s?

Forgot about one more mod im trying out, mounting offroad lights flush with the grill like the newwer mustangs, has anyone done this yet(I see allot behind the grill but not very often are they flush mounted.


Its soo nice driving something without a warrenty or payment attached.
