Hello everyone -- new to the forum, and also, new to Ford. I’ve been driving GM vehicles for years, but when it came time to purchase a new truck, it wasn’t even close. I compared the F150 against both the Silverado and Sierra Denali and decided to buy a new fully loaded 2016 Blue Jeans Lariat. This is an amazing truck and I’m glad I did an objective comparison of the F150 with the Chevy/GMC models.
There are so many features about the F150 that make it stand out:
3.5L EcoBoost – This engine is a beast! Wow!
Twin panel sunroof – Denali has regular sunroof
Two 400W power outlets – Denali has single 150W
Heated rear seats – Not available in Denali
Power tailgate release – Not available in Denali
360 degree view – Not available in Denali
Power tilt/telescoping steering wheel – Manual tilt/telescope in Denali
Push button start – Not available in Denali
And so on, and so on. Ford’s investment in the F150 is pretty clear as soon as you start driving it.Haven’t done much to the Lariat yet except add a BakFlip F1, a BedRug mat, and a low profile 15” antenna from AntennaX. Also, removed the box side steps. Near future mods will probably include a 1.5” level, 33” tires, and the towing mirrors. I’m sure a 5-Star tune will be on the list as well. Also considering a Helwig sway bar.
For now, just enjoying the ride. This sucker has pretty much every option you can get in a Platinum or Limited except for the massage seats (sounds like maybe another mod).
