Default Loss of power

Hello, I bought a 2010 F150 XLT with a small V8 in October - I've had the oil changed once and the tranny serviced...Yesterday when I started it up at lunch time it sputtered, so we checked the oil...it was a quart low; then the engine light came on...so we added a quart of 5W-20 Synthetic Blend, drove 2 miles and it seemed better. When we were listening to the engine you can hear the hydraulic lifters, but then there was an electrical arching noise...is that part of the regular lifter noise? Then, this morning I started it up, drove 7 miles to work and parked it...at lunch time it started ok, drove ok, then on the way back to work, it lost power and drove real slow (thank goodness I was in a 25 mph zone..lol). Anyhow, does that sound like a compression issue? Or will a regular LOF fix the problem? Thanks
