Default Long time Ford fan comming from the panther platform

Helo everyone .

I am comming from the panther platform (crown vic ,mercury marauder town car ) wich I have been driving exclusively for almost 20 years. I still own a few of them wich one of them is sporting a 5.4 2V with a 5 speed manual making 390/382 at the wheels Naturally aspirated and clocking the 1/4 in a 13.079 @ 105 1.8 on the 60' and that is just a start . Iam planning to run low 12's still NA later this year .

Anyways long story short I got my dads 2010 F150 xlt with the 5.4 3V and will daily drive it . I am well aware of the common issues with the 5.4 3 v of those years and will try top adress them as time permits .
I am the kind of guy that has big plan for this truck as it belonged to my dad and has huge sentimental value .
So there it is

if its been well taken care of, don´t even bother worrying about it. the 2009-2010 5.4s are very solid. i have a buddy that has one with 180k miles, and he doesn´t treat it very well but it runs like a top

That is good to hear but I just cant leave well alone . Just like I did with all my crown vic I went the extra way making sure that everything was on top of the game . The 00 to 03 4,6 had timming chain guide issues that needed replacement or would cause severe damage issue or engine faillure so I did them I even degreed the cams while I was at it .
I am going to play it safe . I have made the oil change in due time when my dad had it and it's fairly low mileage 75k miles .

Plugs are due and off course living in the rust belt I no longer have exhaust manifold left neither the studs so I am seriously thinking pulling the engine and doing everything on the engine stand .
