Learning in NC
Hey fellow DIYers! I was in need of an affordable work truck and second mode of transportation since a close family member lost their job, then their house and finally their car and moved in with me. My friend couldn't say enough about the 8th generation (87 - 91) F150 with the inline 6 ... 4.9 ... 300 , whatever you like to call it. (Don't you wish we all called it the same thing for the purposes of searching sites like these?) Anyways, I finally scored the one I wanted: a 1989 F150 inline 6, 5 speed with vinyl floor and bench seat. I'm still working out her kinks, but the engine, as my friend told me, seems bulletproof. It's a real tugboat of a truck. There's so much character in these old trucks, eh? Learning a lot on this forum, so thanks guys. I'll contribute soon enough as I make it street legal (exhaust pipe behind the cat rusted in half, turn signals not working, plus rough idle, charging system not working, etc.).
Thanks,
Sean
