Default Key fobs

I had to purchase a couple of new keys with the key fob attached. I went to a couple places to get the keys and fobs matched with my truck. They said the chip in the fobs were not the right ones and wanted me to buy keys from them. One dealership and two locksmiths. I didn't buy more keys at $110 each. Has anyone else had trouble getting keys from an auto parts company and had this problem?

Welcome. I had two working FOB's, so I bought a third off of Amazon and programmed it myself. Cost me $52.00 for the FOB.

They are in the business to make money. I have purchased slightly used FOB's off of eBay and then programmed them to my truck. Much cheaper than getting one from the $tealer or a lock$mith.
