I’ve referred to this site for years without joining. Decided it was high time!
I’m a recently retired Ford manufacturing engineer living in southeast Michigan. I spent my career, for the most part, launching new models in Ford’s assembly plants. Programs included Econoline, Ranger, Windstar, F-Series, Edge, Escape, and Bronco. Truck guy, though I also did a bit with car programs as well - just not as memorable! Primary areas of expertise were body assembly and stamping.
I’ve been driving F150s on and off since selling my ‘92 Bronco in ‘98 - and switched exclusively to F150s at the combined event of Expedition going to aluminum and most of my five kids getting cars of their own enabling me to drive something with fewer seats. As a member of Ford management, I was privileged to drive a new one pretty much every year, and bought my 2020 when I retired. (My favorite was a 2017 King Ranch crew with the ecoboost engine! Man! That thing could go!)
