So I finally broke down and upgraded my 2011 Toyota Tacoma and traded it in for a 2018 F150 Lariat Supcrew with the 6'2" bed and the 3.5L Ecoboost. So far I have installed a Ranch Hand Brush Guard and will be installing a 32" Bluetooth controlled LED Light bar to the brush guard this evening or tomorrow.
Future Upgrades are:
Installation of a VHF/UHF Dual band radio which is just waiting on a new antenna lip mount
A.R.E. Above cab height canopy with tool box on the drivers side and window on the passenger side (already ordered just waiting on delivery)
Bed Rug
Light Bar install on the front of the canopy
LED flood lights side mounted on the canopy
Rear facing LED flood
I use the truck both as my daily driver and as a vehicle to drive to and from Search and Rescue callouts along with transporting all my gear and working pup. I am always happy to talk dogs for any dog owners out there. Here is a picture of the new truck with my pup:
Welcome to the forum. Nice looking truck and pup. I was involved in a Search and Rescue last year that turned into a Search and Recovery. I’m retired and have been thinking this is something I want to do. Is it worth trying to get certified through an organization like NASAR of is it best to just volunteer? I’d be willing to travel if necc. Thanks for doing what you do!

It really depends on your area. First you need to get involved with a team once you're with that team they will let you know what certifications they want you to have and what agency they're through. Some locations the certification is state based, others its team based, and in others they'll use something like NASAR.
So like I said start by finding a team near you that you like and then use the certification they want.
