Jeep Guy Here
Here's my obligatory intro post.
I'm a Jeeper with a built TJ Wrangler (35s, chromo axles, custom 4-link, turbo 4.0L) that served as my daily until I got tired of constantly working on it. The turbo adds just enough twist to consistently find new weak points, and on top of that I wheel it very hard.
I've had one other F-150 a few years back, but didn't care for it much. It was a 97 SCab 4.6L 2WD and my biggest complaint was the lack of power and no resultant fuel savings. I've since had a couple other DDs (Infiniti G20t & Lexus IS300) that didn't last long. They were nice, but I enjoyed driving the Jeep more. Second choice is a truck.
This time I picked up an 04 SCab 5.4L 3V 2WD. Figuring if I'm going to get 15 MPG I may as well enjoy driving it. I've had the truck for 1 week and so far I love it. Only has 55k on the clock and I got it for $10k. Around here it's a $12k truck all day long.
Fist thing I did was pull the running boards, bug shield, mud flaps, and vent visors. Future plans include:
2/4" drop with 20s and bags for towing the Jeep
Lightning-style exhaust
Intake
Troyer Performance tuning
Debadging
Tinting
Maybe some Roush stripes but not sure on that.
Right now I'm being taunted by someone's CL post for a low-mile MagnaCharger for $1500. However knowing how I behave with a high-powered rig I am forcing myself to resist.
Anyway, here I am. Thanks for listening to me babble.

nice find on that SCab and that Jeep is sick looking. I came to F150 world from a Jeep too, however mine was a GC SRT8 with H/C/I and exhaust being built for the track. I considered the 4d wrangler but wife suggested a truck again.
Welcome!
Welcome!
Thanks! The Jeep pic doesn't do it justice really, but it's all I have handy right now. I generally hate driveway pics because it is built for anything but the driveway. That pic was when it rolled out of the garage after 4-weeks of building the 4-link suspension and all that goes with that. This is my 3rd Jeep, with the first being a decently built YJ 4-cylinder, the second being a 330hp 'Vette LT1 powered CJ on 1-ton drivetrain and 40s. This one was supposed to be a mild rig my kids could ride in, but the only thing that hasn't been modified is the factory cage and seating, which is next.
I think I got a good deal on the truck. The owner didn't know what he had, calling it a Thoroughbred Edition in the CL ad. There used to be a Ford dealer in KC called Thoroughbred, hence the badge on the gate. He basically knew he had a white F150 and that was about it. The PO before him put all the doodads and rims on it. Goofy thing is it has 17" load range E tires, which ride like a wagon, but will probably wear forever under a 1/2 ton truck pulling virtually no weight. I'll probably keep these for winter use and try to keep the new rims safe from the Midwest salt. If it snows I've go the Jeep. I promised the wife no wheels or suspension mods until after I get my year-end bonus. Then it's ON!
