Introduction from two year member/ first post
Hi! I'll probably be coming back later with some OBD codes, thought I would be polite and introduce myself:
I purchased a 2016 SuperCab Long Bed 4WD with 5.0 V8 in January 2024. 177,000 miles. This is my third truck, first was a '63 F100, 2nd a '84 F150.
Generally I like it, put about 20K on it since new to me. The day after purchase I hauled a ton of wood pellets, no problem. A few months later helped a friend bring about 20 tons of manure back to his place, five loads on a trailer. All good!
I'm interested in getting a camping setup going. Originally was thinking a trailer of some sort, but got interested in truck campers. Purchased a 30 year old SunLite popup TC last Fall, still have some setup to do before heading out. Looks great on the truck, has the overcab bed section. Should be fine for staying out of the weather and a good place to sleep.
Anyway, a week ago I woke up to a car alarm going off. Half an hour later, I realized it was my truck alarm! Went out and briefly stopped it with the remote, but it kept going off - horn, lights, flashers. Pulled the NEG cable off the battery. Worked on it a few days, finally decided I needed an OBDLink EX, which arrived in two days, fast shipping! I'm working through about two dozen codes, I assume I can post those in the FORSCAN thread to get some ideas?
