I found this site a few days ago while looking for solutions to repair my 2000 Ford F150 after failing the Texas state inspection. Yay! EGR not ready. EVAP not ready. CAT not ready! Replaced a few parts then took it to a dealer who told me it was the PCM causing false codes. They replaced the PCM then told me that one of the brand new Motorcraft parts (EVAP / Solinoid) that I already replaced was bad. They wanted 400 bucks to replace it - 3 hours labor plus the part! This literally took me 20 minutes to swap. Fuming mad, I refused the additional repair and took the truck home - still unable to pass state inspection. Got a waiver from the state so I'm good for a year. Still upset with the dealer. I think the tech needed Christmas money and decided to replace the PCM and pad his wallet, then try to stiff me with additional repairs. BUT, I'm not giving up yet! I'll be posting soon. Thanks for adding me to the forum.
